General information

08.11.2021

The theme of World Water Week 2021 is Building Resilience Faster, with a focus on concrete solutions to the world’s greatest water-related challenges, starting with the climate crisis and including water scarcity, food security, health, biodiversity, and impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Every year, nine seminars are held during World Water Week with researchers and practitioners exploring different aspects of the year’s theme, in 2021 Building Resilience Faster. The content of the seminars is developed by SIWI’s Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) together with leading co-convening organizations. Speaker slots are given to individuals who want to present their work in a short and interactive way.

The seminars take as their starting point the Thematic scope developed by the SPC. It is the SPC and the co-convening organizations that select the abstracts that will be presented in the seminars, based on their content and innovation.
