World leaders and renowned artists celebrate UNESCO at 75
A special ceremony began at 4pm Paris time on Friday 12th November with a keynote speech from UNESCO’s Special Envoy for Peace and Reconciliation, Forest Whitaker.
The 28 World leaders each addressed the conference and their speeches were interspersed with performances from a diverse list of artists and musicians from all over the globe.
The performance of Afghan singer and women’s rights activist Aryana Sayeed, who recently fled Afghanistan, was a poignant moment.
