OECD : STI policies for net zero

General information

-

11.22.2021

Achieving international climate goals hinges on dramatically scaling up clean energy technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and having those technologies ready in time to meet net zero ambitions hinges on a rapid acceleration of innovation and R&D. Science, technology, innovation and industry policies have pivotal roles in this process.

To help countries reach net zero emissions, the International Energy Agency, European Commission and OECD are developing a web portal with information on STI policies that explicitly support the transition to net zero. A series of interactive dashboards provides an overview of policy landscapes with additional detail on specific policy initiatives. Links to statistical indicators and related publications from several international organisations and the academic literature complement the policy data.
