Celebrated every 10 November, World Science Day for Peace and Development, highlights the vital role of science for society and the importance of keeping citizens  informed about  its advancements.

This year, UNESCO is hosting a webinar on the theme Why Science Matters - Engaging Minds and Shaping Futures on 12 November, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. (Paris time),  with the aim to explore the essential role of science in our society.

Aligned with the objectives of the UN International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development, the webinar will also be an opportunity  for young participants to ask outstanding scientists how science impacts our daily life and addresses pressing global challenges. 

With the kind participation of Dr Nada Jabado, 2024 Laureate from Canada, Dr Catherine Ngila, 2021 Laureate from Kenya, and Awa Bousso Dramé,  2022 Young Talent from Senegal.
