Dear FWIS Alumnae, UNESCO is pleased to invite you to the event “Closing the gender gap in science: Accelerating Action”, organized in celebration of the 2024 International Day of Women and Girls in Science.Date: 9 February 2024Time: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Venue: UNESCO Headquarters (Room II), 125 Avenue de Suffren, 75007 Paris Event overviewIn collaboration with L'Association fédérative nationale des étudiant.e.s universitaires scientifiques (AFNEUS), this event will delve into the root causes of gender-based inequalities in science. Distinguished speakers from ministries, international organizations, the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science network, the public/private sectors, and media companies will share valuable insights. The event will start with the unveiling of the new UNESCO Call to Action “Closing the Gender Gap in Science” during the opening plenary session.
