On 18 March 2026, join UNESCO for this global online webinar celebrating
World Day for Glaciers and World Water Day 2026
Broadcast live from UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, the webinar will mark the conclusion of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation 2025 and the launch of the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences (2025–2034).
Participants will hear from leading scientists, policymakers and partners on the accelerating loss of glaciers and its implications for water security, climate resilience and gender equality.
Open to a worldwide audience, this interactive online event will also feature the launch of the
2026 UN World Water Development Report, with a special focus on water, women and gender equality.
